Our chocolate bars use a blend of Monk Fruit and Allulose. Monk Fruit is a natural, zero calorie sweetener native to Southeast Asia and derives its sweetness from its antioxidants, which can make it over 100x sweeter than regular sugar. Allulose is a natural ‘sugar’ found in things like figs and raisins. Allulose has the same chemical formula but is structured differently, preventing your body from processing it, and as a result has almost no calories, does not impact blood sugar or increases insulin levels.
We have a touch of universal coloration on every bar! The designs are from naturally colored cocoa butter created with beet root (pink on dark chocolate) and blue spiralina (blue on oat milk chocolate.)
Under certain conditions, chocolate 'blooms'. This gives it a chalky appearance. Despite its look, the chocolate is still completely safe to eat and the taste profile doesn't change. Read more about chocolate blooming here.
We spent almost two years working through seemingly a galactic amount of formulations on our journey to find a taste reminiscent of our favorite childhood chocolates without the sugar. We eventually figured out a way to include all of the good stuff, without any of the bad stuff.
At Nebula, we are dedicated to being good for humans and good for earth. Although we look and taste like familiar chocolate, our bars are completely different. Unlike everyday chocolate bars, we do not use sugar or artificial sweeteners. Our products are made using selective ingredients like Allulose and Monk Fruit to mimic the traditional sweetness you would expect but without the detriments to health and well-being. Additionally, we invest in green-packaging; our products are shipped using 100% recycled cardboard, contain inserts that are certified compostable, and use completely bio-based materials within our wrappers.
Nebula chocolate is free of any animal or dairy products. Our ‘milk chocolate’ gets its creamy texture and flavor from high quality oat milk, allowing for a taste reminiscent of classic milk chocolate bars.
Yes. Nebula Chocolate is perfect for anyone on a ketogenic diet or on a low carb diet. Our Dark Chocolate bar has only 1g Net Carb and the Oat Milk Chocolate bar has only 3g Net carbs!
Not all carbs are created equal. Fiber and (most) natural sweeteners don’t affect your blood sugar, so they’re stripped out to get “net carbs,” which you can think of as the active carbs that affect your body.
Our dark chocolate, for example = total carbs (14g) - natural sweeteners (10g) - fiber (3g)= 1g net carbs.
Absolutely! And since it tastes just like their favorite “unhealthy” chocolate, they’ll love eating this instead of other “healthy” chocolate.
