We are rapidly approaching the holidays - the pinnacle of the year for sweet treats loaded with added sugars.

Healthy snacks often slip by the wayside during this time in favor of sugar snacks, particularly as New Year Resolutions can be the excuse for indulging in sugar.

4. Veggies & Dips

A savory option and a great snack at any time of the year, is always worth bringing to a holiday mixer. A little veggie and dip spread will satisfy the crowd throughout the night or can make a great individual treat.

The Veggies:

Crunchy bites with carrots, celery, bell peppers, cucumbers or snap peas!

Salty sides are a good call with pickles, pickled radishes or cauliflower.

Top with spice roasted chickpeas for a punch of flavor. (Try some paprika or some turmeric!)

The Dips:

Hummus: The versatile chickpea dip can amp up this plate. Just top with some olive oil on top for a classic, try a roasted garlic hummus or add some harissa for a spicy hummus.

Guacamole: Mash some avocado and get some zest with fresh lemon or lime juice and sea salt.

Throw some salted or roasted nuts on the tray as well for some added texture. Almonds, cashews, pecans or macadamia nuts would work great.
